PDR vs. Traditional Body Shop: Which Is Right for Your Repair?

Not every dent requires a full body shop repair. Understanding the difference between PDR and traditional methods can save you time and money.

When your vehicle gets a dent, you have two main repair options: paintless dent repair (PDR) or a traditional body shop repair. The right choice depends on the size, depth, and location of the damage, as well as the condition of the paint.

PDR is ideal for minor dents and dings where the paint is intact. It is faster, less expensive, and preserves your factory finish. A traditional body shop repair involves sanding, body filler, and repainting — which takes longer, costs more, and may result in a slight color difference.

If the paint is cracked, the dent is very deep, or the metal has been severely stretched, a traditional repair may be necessary. Our technicians will give you an honest assessment and recommend the best approach for your specific damage.
